Disconnect and unplug your cpu's power cable.

Again, make sure to disconnect and unplug your cpu's power cable.

Open up your cpu casing and try to locate where the 512mb memory is. Usually, there will be more than one slot for the memory modules. So all you have to do is to place your shiny new 1GB memory next to your already in-place 512mb memory. You will do this by unlocking the "side-snap-locks". These locks are a pair of plastic snap-in locks that are positioned on either side of the memory slot modules. You just need to push each one of the pair side-ways out so it will be ready for your 1GB baby. You will then notice that you can now fit-in the shiny new 1gb and slide it in place. You can't go wrong with the placement because it's "rigged" in such a way that it will only allow the bottom side of the 1gb memory to fit exactly the memory slot--try to notice that the bottom side of the 1gb memory has an "indentation" off to one side. So simply, you just need to match this with the indentation on the memory slot. They are complimentary so they both fit together always in the same way and no reversing whatsoever. Figuring this out, you just need to slide the whole damn thing in place. The snap-locks i mentioned will naturally do its thing: snap-then-lock as you slide the whole 1gb thing in place.

You will know your operation is successful if the 1GB actually looks in the same fitted fashion as the 512mb. If something went wrong and it doesn't look like a good fit, just use the snap-locks. push them together side-ways at the same time and your memory module will jump off like a startled jumping spider that you took to school one day saying it'll freak the mainstream fighting spiders, hehe.

It's really not so difficult.

So when you power up your pc, and when in the windows desktop, right-click and "My Computer" and click properties. You will see that it now indicates you have "1512MB of RAM" (that's roughly 1GB plus 512MB). Congratulations!

Fire up your nwn2 and tell me if lady aribeth (is she in the sequel?) looks better in armor or not.

Btw, did you upgrade your video card?

Ok, so, how do I put the 1gb again?

Oh, my friend thinks that the instructions you gave me sounds a little sexual. He is now excited to slide in the 1gb memory chip in to my computer.

No, I did not upgrade my video card, they do not make faster AGP cards, they are making PCI express (dual ones) for most PC.

Kaw, musta naman?

Maybe, within the next 2year, palit ko new computer. PCI express video card the the likes.

whoa nelly! 1512mb tsk...tsk...whetthhheeewwww (don't know how to write whisling sound)

And who is this friend of yours?

Oh yes computers are sexy. they deserve love and care and attention and they are expen$ive things to maintain (get the idea?). But i'm not sure if doing some technical writing about them would somehow naturally sound sensual. :D

I think there are still fast AGP cards out there. The geforce 6800GT or the higher 7600GT from eVGA or BFG (video card makers both) are good.

Ako I'm just playing emulation games kay my computer is struggling with today's video-card hungry games.

Dula rako pc-emulated gameboy advance games like Tactics Ogre (i've put an addicting 40hours already!), Fire Emblem, and Golden Sun. they're very good tactical rpgs.

marns imo na gilabay imo gameboy sc? ayaw ilabay ha!

CEBUALLBLUEVERTICALASSAULT said...

Unsa gameboy sc? Golden sun games are good, finished the two installment, pero, gamit ko ug mga strategy books for the two games. If you want, naa ni Janine ang duha ka game guides and cartridges.

Poys, do you think i need to upgrade my video card? Or unya ra.

If you're going to upgrade your video card, that means you'll be looking at 2 possible scenarios: 1) pci express 2) AGP

1) is really more expensive kay it's not just the video card, but you'll have to upgrade practically everything--motherboard (which has PCI express) and processor (which is compatible with a motherboard that has PCI express.

2) is much less expensive. you can sell your current video card (i guess you have shops there that buy used) and buy a new, faster AGP card like the 6800GT or 7600GT.

3) if you don't like 1) or 2) and if your games are not bogging your computer to minimal frame rates, then you can wait.
